I do not remember exactly what was my first encounter with entrepreneurship, but I do recall some movies which definitely sparked my interest in the subject. Some of these movies are: The Pursuit of Happyness, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Founder, and Lord of War. While I realize that the majority of the people featured in these films are not exactly role models for ethics, I am still amazed by the drive, vision, and creativity they possessed to build their own businesses.
I enrolled in ENT3003 because the idea of being my own boss, creating something that I would own fascinate me. Whether it takes up part of my time on the side or it is my full time responsibility, I have yet to decide. But I do know that I am curious and eager to learn more. From this course I want to learn how to take advantage of business opportunities when they present themselves in order to someday implement my teachings in a real business-like scenario so that I may prosper.
Hey Luis!
ReplyDeleteI love that you took this assignment to a different route that highlights movies and their importance that sparked your interest in entrepreneurship. I find it quite interesting when people see different ways of addressing a prompt in a out of the box type fashion. Also, I admire your passion and ambition in applying for this class. I hope the best for you and that you learn a lot in this class.
Hey Luis,
ReplyDeleteI think your perspective of viewing entrepreneurship through famous movies is an interesting take. However, I agree with you that the characters in these movies sometimes went outside the law to succeed and that they might not be the best people to follow. I hope you accomplish your goal of learning how to identify business opportunities. I already feel like we have analyzed such a skill in depth. By using the who/what/who/how/why, we should be able to do just that.
